After I finished stripping and applying truoil. No stain! All steel trim and barrel had been antique browned.

First time out with the rifle at 60 yards with 80gr Pyrodex RS, 250gr Powerbelt Aerolite. I think im on to something good!

And then a few days ago i made a partial trade for this .54cal TC Hawken. I will most likely just rob the barrel off it and then sell the complete stock.

Ended up getting a custom barrel breeched for a TC tang. I will have to do some work on the dove tails for the sights as well as the wedge key section but it shouldn't be to much trouble, Will be sure to get pictures of the process as I go.

Which custom barrel did you choose?

Did you know Track of the Wolf offers a replacment breech for most TC traditionals that will fit the more standard thread pitch of most custom barrels? I rebarreled a Seneca with a .40 cal Green Mountain using that breech and it dropped right in.

You can restore old abused TC's this way for, I'm thinking, around $200.

Its not a GM barrel but a TOW barrel, not sure of brand yet. When it comes in I will take a good look at it and get everything cut and installed.

Nice job refinishing the Renegade.
Is that a white spacer between the stock and the butt plate? Looks real nice.
A long time ago a friend of mine had an old Renegade which he wasn't taking such great care of. I talked him into letting me clean it and oil it. After some more years passed I bought it from him when he wanted an inline.
Now that I'm in the process of retiring and have more time I think I'd like to refinish it like you did yours.
It's wood is nice.
I've never refinished anything though; can I correspond for help if I should tackle this project?
Thanks in advance
