After my frustration thread i went this afternoon and stayed after it....i sat the ground because its been windy and raining and caught these deer moving right toward me.....well they changed course and began walking away.....well being that my season has been rough i decided to take action and not let thesr deer go....i packed my gear and tried to head them off....i slowly crept through the rain drench leaves as the wind whipped the tree tops....moving 10 yards scan 10 yards scan 10 yards and scan....i finally i caught up to them....somehow I got close enough that the fawns were running circles around me in the thicket...visibility was a max of 50 yards and I caught momma doe heading right to me...as she closed ground i shoulder my Brazilian Mouzer 30.06 and dropped her then baby doe comes back and the rifle barks again!

My frustration has been lifted and the deer is on ICE

glad you got on some after that post. i wished i had more time to go, but it is tough with a 2 year old when you have no babysitter. I'm hoping in 2 or 3 years i can begin to take him with me. The boy loves the outdoors already. He throws a fit when you go outside without him.
 
Glad a change in your approach pulled results. A freezer full of meat is good insurance. Bet them folks up in new York would have given their left..... Well let me stay pg.... To have a freezer full of meat.... Probably the right for a generator.... A few weeks ago.

much as a tedious hassle as it is, I am ready to butcher another deer if I can kill another one. When I get home with a deer and have to butcher it, I am tired, and when I am done butchering I still have to trim and freeze it a few days later, and it makes me wonder if I want to kill another one. Then I want to kill another one. More practice will make me better at butchering anyway. But if I can find a processor that will do it for free, I might donate my next one to HFTH. Ive killed plenty so I'm not short on meat and would like some less fortunate to have some.

Glad you got your two deer, and I feel less alone (besides DA) in killing a fawn :D
