I went out this past Thursday evening to put out some salt and a trail camera. I carried my S&W M&P 9c, just in case. While I was pouring salt on a rotting log I heard the unmistakable sound of something running in the woods. As I turned I saw an adult coyote only about 20 yards from me running by and I'm pretty sure there was a second one in front of it...the one I heard running. They had crossed my scent train and were moving on out pretty quick! I went back to setting my deer attractant, then moved about 10 yards and squatted down to fasten my camera to a small tree. While doing so, I saw another yote coming right at me, so I pulled my pistol and got it up into firing position before the yote looked my way. It stopped at about 10-12 yards and I fired...missing. But the young yote made the mistake on only running about 2 steps and looking back. He shouldn't have done that. I dropped him right there.

That is a great choice in a pistol seeing that's what I keep in the truck. As far as carrying during deer season, you better get to reading the rules and regulations or you could get into a heap of trouble.
