My blackberries over Winter

My blackberries kept green leaves over the entire Winter despite all the ice and snow we got in west Tennessee. I've been growing them for about 6 years and never seen leaves last through the Winter. You can see the new growth next to the fully formed leaves from last year.

Look great! Keep saying I'm going to plant some & haven't done it....My blueberries did same as your blackberries. By end of Jan they had more buds than ever. Figured they'd gotten whacked with that cold spell couple weeks ago, but they didn't. Still covered & putting on leaves now.

I've got some thornless blackberries and some blueberries on order right now. The wild blackberries at my house are really small and takes a lot of picking to get enough to do anything.
