I killed this deer a couple of weeks ago. Put a good shot on him ran out of blood while tracking found him 4 days later hate to see good meat go to waste just thankful I found him. He ran a 1/2 a mile. I would have posted sooner but for some reason I had to make a new account. I'd like y'alls opinion on the age of him.

Not good with aging but he is a dandy, for sure. Good for you to keep after him.
 
Awesome character on that buck! Congrats! As far as aging that's not going to be possible from that angle...best bet at this point is to pull the lower jaw bone and post a pic...

Not possible to age him like that but man that's a great buck, I dang sure would have shot him

Just based on mass I'd guess 4.5. It's always a shame to lose a shot deer to weather, coyotes, etc but you will still probably have the opportunity to put more meat in the freezer. It won't be quite as easy to match the character that buck has and you were able to salvage that. Good job. What kind of hit did you put on him?

Right behind the front shoulder u can see a dark spot in the pic thts we're I hit him I shoot a 2 1/2 inch rage. When I shot him he mule kicked and as soon as I seen the shot I new he was hit good just didn't think he would go as far as he did he was 17 yard standing broad side I couldn't have asked for a better shot.
 
First thing I did was get jealous. Of the deer yeah, but more that you don't have the coyotes I do. No way after 4 days would I find more than bones
