After hunting hard yesterday and not seeing anything, we decided to sleep in this morning and go to church. We decided this afternoon to try it again. We got in the shooting house about 4 and at 4:25 a small spike came out about 120 yds but didn't stick around long enough for a shot. We later saw a pretty nice 6 point across the field but wasn't able to get him on it either. Later we heard something in the woods behind us and saw two young does feeding and making their way toward the field. We got Avery into position and when the first one stepped out at 10 yds he squeezed the trigger, the deer ran 30 yds and fell. I knew he would be excited when he killed his first deer but never dreamed he would show the emotions that he did. He immediatley turned to me smiling and tears of joy were rolling down his face. We were fortunate to have my dad with us and he caught it all on video. There wasn't a dry eye in the blind. Some people will think that is kinda silly and not really a big deal but this was an experience that neither I or my son will ever forget. Thank you Lord
