My 2011 Mounts

I got these mounts back from my taxidermist recently and thought they were worthy of being shared. Both were killed last fall with a Savage smokeless muzzleloader in Fayette county.

Killed November 5, during the last hour of light.

Killed November 12 in the morning.

Marvin "Buck" McAlpin. He owns, runs and is the sole taxidermist at Millington Taxidermy in Tipton County. I highly recommend him for hunters in this part of the state (SW TN).

What was the age on them?

First one was aged at 3.5, although I'd bet a good amount of money he was 4.5. The second one was aged at 2.5; there is no doubt with him.

Why the euro?

Two main reasons: $$$$ and available wall space. Another reason I went with the euro is I am starting to like euro mounts more and more with each passing year. Furthermore, my wife suggested I "diversify" the mounts in my man cave. She said it was getting boring in there with nothing but deer heads staring at her. What does she know? :grin:
