Awesome morning in the woods Saturday morning. Got to our first tree at 645, 715 heard a shot back behind us, told him to get ready as they may head our way. Sure enough here comes two doe, he could not get a shot off, (this was 730ish). He asked if we could move to the thicket stand, so we headed that way sounding like a heard of buffalo coming down the ridge line. Got up in the stand at 830, I hit a grunt twice five minutes later, out stepped a little buck, I thought it was a spike at first. My little boy shouldered his rifle made the 20 yard shot, gut shot at that. He ran 40 yards and piled up in the bottom of the holler. One proud daddy and 10 year old.
