I have a optima magnum an was wondering what is the best bullet to shoot out of it? Also should I use 100 grain or can I shoot 150 grain? Thanks!

Most all present muzzleloaders can shoot 150gr now. I dont really know one that isnt. Check your manual on the bullet. They build the barrels around the bullet and it should tell u which. Im pretty sure CVA is best with the 240 powerbelt. Its just like green mt barrels built theirs best around a barnes expander.

I have the same gun...shoot 120 grains of pyrodex and tc shockwave bullets...group well and they will tear a hole thru a deer and keep going
Probably killed 4-5 w this setup and none have gone further than 30 yards.

I have an optima and so does my buddy. We both shoot 100gr pyrodex and a 250gr Barnes tze. Shoots well with our guys. The barrel is rated to 150 grain powder but we find 100-120 works best. I've known people to load a 150 and it didn't shoot as tight a group. Yours may shoot different.
