Well I took my son this afternoon. We jumped a wide 8 pointer bedded with a doe on the way to the stand. They were actually only 30 yards from it. Decided to hunted another stand about 200 yards away on another good plot. Jumped up a big 6 pointer and doe bedded in the CRP. They were actually in the isolated clump to the left of the glowing embers. So we get in the stand. See a few yearlings. Then see a year and half old doe(I think) by her self. We wanted some meat for the freezer. My son got zeroed in on her. I grabbed my phone, turned on the video, my son fires and it sounded like a dud. Triple 7 primer didn't sound too loud and it lobbed the bullet about 30 yards or so. The pic is a screenshot from the paused video. First misfire ever for one of my inline muzzleloaders. We reloaded and kept hunting. I told my 12 yr old, at least it was a doe, and not a big buck!
With about 3 minutes of shooting time left, we fired it again to see what would happen. This time, loud pop from primer, about a second delay, then boom.
Never had any issues with 777 products in the last 10 years, but next year I think I will change to something else.
Any good ideas?
