With the colder weather and bucks apparently moving I was able to hunt yesterday afternoon and literally at last light had this guy show up. Had to put binoculars on him to see him. Cranked the scope up, settled the crosshairs on his shoulder, and squeezed the trigger. When the smoke cleared I couldn't see a thing. Climbed down and didn't find any sign of a hit. Couple buddies showed up to hunt this morning and afterward we started looking. One of them found blood 40 yards from where I shot him and then a trail anybody could follow. He ran 75-100 yards and piled up. Not sure what he weighed but body was huge. Both buddies shot deer early this morning. One dropped in its tracks (10-pt) and the other one knocked down and then bolted not to be found.
