MUZZLE LOADER MYSTERY

Got this flintlock from a local pawn shop some years ago just because.
There are no markings, names, caliber or proof marks on the barrel or anywhere on the rifle. I believe it is in the .40 caliber range. I have not attempted to fire it although I did mount the flint and it throws a spark every time. The stock is one piece but I am not familiar enough with wood to even guess it's species. The rifle O.A.L. is 51.5" from the floor to the muzzle straight line measurement. Barrel is 36" from chamber to muzzle.
Here are some pictures that might help someone to identify it as a kit, a custom or original piece.

It's 100% contemporary from parts still available today. I'm guessing it's from the 1970/80s. It looks like an attempt to recreate a southern mountain rifle sometimes referred to a "Tennessee rifle". The stock may be cherry but it's possibly a very plain grained cherry-stained maple as well. The lock I believe is a Siler which is a good lock but not a proper styled lock for a Tennessee gun but when this one was built there were few, if none, good locks to represent the time frame. The Siler (Germanic) would be more of a lock for a revolutionary era gun. A flint southern gun would likely have an imported English lock. The trigger is a R E Davis #4. The trigger guard has been modified with the appendage toward the rear being bent in a sort of wonky way. The barrel may be stamped on the bottom flat with the manufacturer name. If the barrel's bore is good, I'd shoot it.

It looks like a hunk of junk to me. I think you should trade it for some well used golf clubs. I can meet you within 1/2 block of your house. I won't drive a mile more, but I'm willing to help you out.

i've got TWO sets of clubs, and will toss in three bowling balls and a zebco 33... i need something like that to hang on the wall for when the police come wanting my guns.
