I've got a mulberry tree and all I've ever done is just eat the fruit off the tree. This year I'm gonna try to get the wife to make a cobbler or jelly. Things taste like candy when they are ripe!

Yeah, I've been snatching some myself, though, I think I'm going to have to climb the tree to get enough to make cobbler etc.

I tell you what's also good and simple is to chill the berries and then pour a little heavy cream over them.

Have you ever tried spreading an old, white bed sheet under the tree and then shaking the limbs? Will still require some climbing, but it might be quicker.

I got my butt beat good when I was little, I used a good shirt as a bucket and filled that shirt fill of mulberries. I ran home so proud of what I had picked but my mom was not near as happy as I was when she saw my shirt. :D
 
We eat them til we're suck every spring in TX. Wife makes mulberry jelly.

We eat mulberry cobblers 4 nights a week until the dewberries are ripe and the mix them 50/50. The dewberries add the tart that the mulberries miss.

My kids know where every tree is within 5 miles of our house. A mature one is more than enough, but for some reason they don't all ripen at the same time. This year my six year-old brought the first ripe ones home from a mature tree on March 27. There were still berries on other trees when we left for TN on Sunday.

Found a huge mulberry while mowing a new yard this afternoon. Dang tree is loaded down. Can't wait to try out those cobblers and jams

Sounds great they should be ripe within 2 weeks.
 
What to do with 8 cups of fresh picked mulberries?
