I also had a stroke of luck this morning in Mississippi. I went to some public land I hadn't been on, scouted some yesterday, walked in this morning and killed. I noticed there was a large swampy bottom with only one way to access it without swimming so I was there early this morning and thankfully didn't get beat to the spot. I thought I heard one on the roost but wasn't sure so I started walking the swamp and just soft calling every now and then. I struck 2 birds together at around 745 and they seemed pretty far off to me. I started moving in toward them and they sounded a lot closer all of a sudden so I found a spot where they would have to hunt for me and made a setup( wide open bottoms). I made a soft yelp or two and they were in my lap before I knew it. I will admit that I had to shoot twice. Must not have got the full pattern the 1st shot and had to run it down and shoot again resulting in both of us being soaked.
