So I have avoided hunting this area because of the layout and not wanting to shoot towards a neighboring house if I stay down wind. But, I have seen some recent action on a cam pics so I moved a stand.

I will have a west wind at my back but north wind shouldn't hurt me. I have other spots to hunt the wind but figured I might go against my better judgement one day soon to see what happens.

What would you do?

I'd try to be as careful as I could with my scent control and hunt it when I had the chance. I mean most of us don't have the luxury of waiting on the perfect wind for the perfect stand. You gotta do the best you can with what you got. I know folks that smoke in the deer stand and kill deer all the time. I would also say moving it is smart if you have a house in the direction you were wanting to shoot.

Good luck man

wait for the wind. put all the odds you can in your favor. especially if you're going for mature deer. if it is a marginal wind I may press my luck but I would use scents use them anyway but that's just me. playing the wind and understanding thermals are imo the most important thing in hunting deer. it can be very tough in Tennessee though wind swirls a whole lot.

Give it a whirl! Worst case scenario is to put the house between you and the deer, even with a less than favorable wind. The deer are probably used to human scent and yours should not spook them.
