Awesome buck. I look forward to your annual posts with some killer mountain bucks. I imagine the next one will come right after Thanksgiving weekend.

You should definitely consider a book on hunting Whitetails in the mountains. Bobby Worthington's book gets into that a little, but it's more deer hunting stories rather than technical.

Growing and Hunting Quality Bucks by Tom Indrebo is the best book I've read. It's the most applicable book when it comes to hunting east TN.

If you are interested, send me a PM and I can send you a pic of my setup where I shot this buck.
I know this was directed at Poser, but I'm interested in this setup as well. PM on its way.

Thanksgiving is the absolute best time to hunt where I am. I'm going to be very selective on my final buck so we will see!

Man how could you debate that, I see that much bone I'm getting ready to shoot. Congrats!

You seen String Music's kills in the past? This guy flat out
Kills some big deer on East TN.

I as thinking the same thing when I saw that. He is one of the more consistent hunters on here that kills big deer every year. I understand how he could think twice, but if it were me, I'm shooting

I am blessed to manage and hunt land that holds bucks like this. They still aren't the easiest to kill, but it helps to hunt quality property!

Hoss! I'm amazed that you take quality deer each year. I'm sure you invest lots of time and energy into the property that you hunt.

I've certainly invested ample time and energy into this property. I'm blessed to have a father and uncle who have also helped transform the property into what it is today. I assure you my success wouldn't be the same if I was limited to public land here.

$0.99 on Kindle books right now. I don't see a reason not to buy it.

I don't get to hunt Thanksgiving week like I used to, but it's always been my favorite week. Followed by the week between Christmas and New Years. I can almost expect a text from BlountArrow on Thanksgiving Day with a pic of a mature Blount County buck they killed that morning.

I agree String, I too hunt East TN (mtns some as well) a lot and I normally kill my best bucks most every year the week of Thanksgiving.

This weekend should be excellent with a weather front moving in!

Approximately how big is your property and what is the biggest thing you have done to improve the quality of the deer besides letting young bucks walk.
