My moultrie is a little over a year old, but its had the problem at least a year... Sometimes night pics are dark, like the flash didn't go off. I figured out the infrared filter that goes in front of the camera lens was not switching off the lens for some of the night pics, so the IR flash was filtered out, making black pics.
With this recent cold weather in January, the filter got stuck half way over the lens, resulting in partially blacked out pics from the black rim of the filter blocking the lens. The first time, I opened it up and fixed it. Then it happened again, so I completely remove the filter. Of course, that means day pics now have a pink color to them, but I'd rather that than keep getting messed up pics and black night pics. Now my camera takes all normal night pics and I can get used to the pink daytime color. Might try image editing software to bring a more natural color to some of the pics.
