Mossberg model 183T bolt action .410

My nephew(11yrs old) had a great evening hunt. No deer though. I also wanted him to carry my Mossberg model 183T that I had when I was his age. Sadly tried a few pre hunting shots and I think the firing pin spring is shot (its is 45yrs old and not been shot in probably 20yrssince my 28yr old son used it). Any of you guys have one for the life of me I cant even remember how to remove the bolt, let alone look for replacement springs etc. Can any of you guys give me a tech assist. Be nice to see this old gun in the hands of my nephew, that took many squirrel/rabbit in my hands. No he will not be shooting at deer with it. Im still introing him to shooting and hunting, this was going to be my shotgun intro. The ejector is also not working may need to just strip the bolt down and give a good cleaning...if I could get the bolt out. AND MERRY Christmas to all.

Ive got a 185K 20 gauge and to remove the bolt on it you pull the bolt back while pulling the trigger to get it out. Hope this helps.



EDIT: Make sure its unloaded first, open the bolt, pull the trigger and hold it while sliding the bolt on out the back.

I have tried that and yes unloaded but it didn't work. Will continue to work it. maybe its a timing thing squeeze at just the right moment...I got this gun out of the safe and soon as I handled it it I was 10yrs old again pitting my skills against tree rats and raiding briar patches for rabbits. Just want to get it working right again.

Safety has to be off also before bolt will come all the way back.
