Jus sat outside studying tonight for about an hour, with porch
Light on.. Not a single mosquito bothered me.. Didn't see hardly any bugs at all actually.. Hopefully this holds true for next few weeks..

Every area is different. On sept 1 I hauled a lock on through some bean fields to hang it in the woods. The first couple fields had millions of mosquitoes, I had a constant swarm following me around. But down the road there was only a skeeter here and there. Same when I got the stand into the woods where I hung it, only a couple mosquitoes.

The other day I was going across the dam of a twra fishing lake and stopped to fish for a minute. The rocks and weeds down by the water had swarms of mosquitoes.

I have seen more mosquitoes in mass this year than I ever have, but only in certain spots at certain times. I was in those bean fields again yesterday and the skeeters were back to a manageable level.

I need to buy a thermacell....

Best $ you will ever spend catman!
as of now, the Permethrin-10 is the best I have ever spent in regard to bug spray. I am sure the thermacell will be awesome, but honestly I'd much rather deal with mosquitoes than ticks and chiggers. mosquito bites go away quickly and don't itch bad for me. But that buzzing in my ear and the feel of one biting my shoulder is a bit agitating. I will end up getting a thermacell at some point. Where do you clip it when you hunt, and how hot does it get?

Heck, I went outside for about 30 min yesterday eve, helping my daughter collect a few leaves for her leaf collection project, and got eaten alive by gnats and skeeters!

I double whammy them. Spray for the ticks and chiggers and thermacell for the mosquitoes. I can almost guarantee you that once you've bought one you'll kick yourself for not having done so before now.

Catman - if it's cost that is holding you up on the Thermacell I'll hook you up with one. I've only noticed 2 things on this site that nearly everyone agrees work...Thermacell and Permethrin!

Yeah, until first frost I'm not going anywhere without spraying down with permethrin. I can deal with leaving my thermacell behind but I am not a fan of chiggers.
