Ok,so I put a 15 gallon water tub beside my mineral site today.I do realize that its gonna be a mosquito pit,so I done some looking around and found these Mosquito Dunks, claim to last for 30days and you get 6 for around $10 which ain't to bad, since i'll be able to break them in half and use half of one for 30 days since 1 hole piece treats 100sqft.

I done some searching on the net,and found that they are safe around all live stock, and that its even safe for them to eat it.BUt I got to thinking, even though it isn't harmful to the deer, what do you think about the deer drinking it and them me eating the deer?? Wonder how that works?

Those dunks actually contain micro-organisms (bacteria) that kill mosquitoes but are harmless to everything else. They wont harm the deer or anyone that eats the deer.

I don't feel comfortable saying they would do no harm to deer just because they do no harm to cattle.

We can agree it's better than midges.

I'm not so sure. I don't feel comfortable at all with introducing bacteria to a water source being used by wildlife when research on the effects of that bacteria to wildlife don't exist.
