I have had numerous pictures of bears every year until this year. I have only had 2 pics this year and thought maybe they had left. I got in the stand at 5 o clock this evening hoping to see a buck that's on my hit list. At 530 I heard something walking down the trail I came in on and I didn't think it sounded like a deer. I stood up to look and saw it was a bear! I immediately got excited and started ranging it. It got to 26 yards and I let the arrow fly but missed low. It backed up and seemed to be irritated. It stared growling and walked back to the same spot. This time I made a perfect shot and it ran 20 yards and piled up. This is the first bear I have ever killed and only the 2nd one I've ever seen. I was more excited than if I had shot a 140 inch deer.

Congrats on the bear. It is a little different seeing a bear when deer hunting. I have had at happen and at a time in the season that I could not release and arrow.

What a rush. Congrats!!!

Rug, mount, what?

It weighed 130 live weight. I thought it was bigger but havery never had to judge the weight from a stand lol. Definitely one heck of a rush.Gonna do a rug I think. Thanks for all the comments guys.
