More that the 2 buck limit saved

This year the limit saved many 2.5-3.5 yr old 8 pts by me. Normally I'd smack a 3.5 110 incher but this year so far they have all walked. Here are a few that I had a chance to video.

I only saw one deer that there was an open shot on. Maybe your view was different from the camera angle. Either way it was your choice to not fill a tag with one of those deer. It's great that you can be so selective in your hunting area. Have you filled both of your buck tags yet? If you are saving one for that big boy walking your area. You may just end up saving 2 bucks this year.

I could see using the limit forcing you to exercise restraint saving one, but the limit wasn't seven last year.

This is the main benefit of the 2 buck limit. Some needed it to get to the point of passing smaller bucks and some didn't.

I am confused though. With a 3 buck limit you'd have shot 3 of the 4 but with a 2 buck limit you didn't shoot any of them????

do you feel the animosity in this thread. folks just can't wrap their head around the fact that you didn't shoot everything you saw with antlers.

Youve even got some questioning whether you had a shot at all by watching a cell cam video.

not every deer that you pass up is going to survive but some will and when it pays off you'll know you made the right decision.

I've seen 15 bucks this year that I did not shoot. unfortunately one of them was one of the biggest deer I've ever seen in my life and I had a misfire but that's not the point. Lol

I guess I should have included a couple WOOHOO's and other things. So you would not read any "animosity" in my post. It is really a good deal for him that he has a good deer population where he hunts. It's not that way for many in this state. And your reading comprehension is also poor. I clearly stated that there may be a difference in camera angle from what he was seeing. Geez, some people seem to view everything in a negative light.
I also have seen many bucks this year. None of which did I shoot. Some were on the side of the road while driving. Some were in subdivisions while I was working. Do you see what I am saying. You can read a lot into a sentence. But if you are looking for the bad all the time. You will surely be able to find it.

Wow as I read all the comments on some of these post I realize that some of you need your own hunting show and sponsors because you are obviously master hunters and the rest of us don't know anything and have no right to post anything .

I'm glad he's learned the benefits of passing bucks to allow them to age, even if only by force. But to say that the limit saved all of these bucks simply isn't accurate. If he were to say "The limit saved a buck I would have otherwise killed" that would make sense. Dropping from 3 to 2 can only have the net effect once, right?

Yep, once. It saved one, exactly what a reduction from 3 to 2 does. No matter how he stated it in his OP I think most understood exactly what he was saying. That if the limit had still been 3 that any "1" of those bucks would have not likely got a pass.

Lmbo, I don't see why you guys are so confused... lets make it elementary for some of you , break it down from a fundamental standpoint. I killed a 11pt opening day of bow season and since there is a 2 buck limit now I can only blast 1 more. If it were a 3 buck limit I may be tempted to shoot another deer...get it? Last year I shot two 3.5's but let a very tempting 3.5 go at the end of the year to see how he grows. Letting that guy go helped me become more patient this season, I really want to shoot 4.5 yrs only now. However; every year before last... Three 2.5-4.5 bucks died by my bullets! If the old limit was still on one of those in the video may have caught a hot 1,because i'm very trigger happy at this time.

When you said in your original post that the new limit "saved many" by you not being able to shoot them I assumed that's what you thought. Thank you for clarifying.

When what pays off? People keep talking about saving this buck or that buck or a certain number of bucks. What are they being saved for? Im real confused by these statements.

Your right that's the problem with this site TO MANY KNOW IT ALLS! I get sick of it . Like I said in an earlier post some of these guys need their own hunting show . It's sad a person can't post something without getting ridiculed and basically told they are an idiot !
