Good luck to him. My son in law was supposed to be here for the opener, but they were up all night with my grandson for double ear infection. May try to get him to a stand this afternoon.

Weather is great and I'm on the couch sipping coffee. 😬 Used to always hunt Thanksgiving morning growing up and even years after I married because I hunted fairly close but now my drive is an hour and a half so can't hunt and be back for lunch so I live through all of y'all that do. Good luck!
 
I've saw a decent buck and a doe ran in behind me like a squirrel, blowed (and not the good way) and took off. May have some chasing finally happening.
 
I turned my alarm off to lay there a few more minutes and woke up 3hrs later


Drinking coffee at home now, lol.

Perfect morning weather wise to hunt. Not too cold, steady but minimal wind, and no fog.

I missed a good buck at 630, thought I had hit him but no blood at all anywhere to be found. Son in law thought he heard something run through the bottom below him less than a minute after I shot so we checked that whole area out too and nothing. It was 80 yard shot so not too far at all, could have hit a branch I guess. He hopped right over the hill he was on at the shot so I couldn't see him running.

Edited to add…when I say "good" buck that means your every day 8 point 2.5 year old with an 18" spread. :) Nothing big
 
Wind has picked up here. Trail cams went cold again this morning here and wife hasn't seen a thing. Sure thought it should be good here this morning.
 
I had a young buck come to 10 yards of where I was sitting. I was on the ground. Could've shot him several times, but he was young and I enjoyed watching him! Saw a buck chasing a doe just now in back of the house.
