One of the highlights of my trip was to stay with a great freind in Dixson Springs. I saw some of Smith Co. as I had seen it, and much much more.

Dang, there is a new Wal-Mart in Carthage. Got to eat at the Yellow Jacket in Hartsville, drove to Celina, to meet another internet buddy Doc Stone, and see Moonshine Mt. Rifle Range.

This is the prettiest part of tennessee I`ve ever seen.
I thought this years ago, and just reinforced this on the last trip.
Ole Doc says right there where we stand, he heard at least 4 big ole toms gobbling just a week or so back.

That county would be fun to ride a bike around. Or one of these.

My friend wouldn`t let me leave without a spin in his 1970 Vette.
We rode to 2 others houses and saw a 1972 Dk Blue immaculate 454 Vette w/Edelbrock heads that sounded wicked, and another guy owns a 1969 Z-28 completely restored, and a 1970 Chevelle same immaculate condition.

He let me drive this beauty, and said "punch it"

My foot said "OK"!!!

Sounds like that was a trip to remember. That must be Doc Stone and his rifle in the pictures. I recognize Randy not by his face since it's sideways in the picture but by his shirt. That must be his lucky shooting shirt as I've seen him in it at shoots before. Funny how we all have our preferences. Mine is a cotton camo that goes with me everywhere. It does get washed on occasion.

The Vette's got my truck engine in it. I bought a short wheel base pickup back in 1977 with a 454 in it and have kept it all these years. Due to the pollution constraints in 1977 it wound up being the fastest vehicle out of Detroit in the quarter mile that year since it was considered a heavy duty vehicle and didn't have the pollution equipment that the cars had. Back when it and I were younger and more foolish it left some guys feeling bad about their hot cars. It's got some age on it but still runs strong....if I could afford the gas.

Tim,
Was the orangle flame BR rig featured on 6mmBR? It looks familiar. That's pretty country....I miss my college days up there.

Whelen Man, it was a trip to remember. Seeing the faces that go with the names looking at the IBS site on Piedmont and Oak Ridge where most of all the recent records have fallen was something I was hoping for.

hunt, not sure if Ole Doc has put that on 6BR or not. It is a beauty. 40X action and a beautiful orange/yellow flame with very nice clearcoat.
