I had a very slow day today. Can some of the experts tell me about hunting with full moon? Does the moon effect when the rut kicks off?
Yeah, what he said^^^^^^^^^^ :DCarlos Viagra":2sxph7vr said:The Moon today is in a Waxing Gibbous phase. The phase lasts round 7 days with the moon becoming more illuminated each day until the Full Moon. Deer are cervids which means they are not ungulates. Rather than travel by way of stars at night, deer prefer to use the moon to guide them. It's been proven that cervids can more clearly see their food sources during the moon's brighter phases so they waste less time spitting out rocks and more time eating acorns. Hunters consequently report less deer movement following a full moon, while law enforcement and maternity wards see an increase. It has yet to be determined if these 3 characters cycles are related.

I think to a certain extent his theory's hold water.New moon seems to be a better option in the morning than a full moon.
BSK knows a lot about this subject ....if he will comment.
