When my son finished his first year of college he headed to Montana to arrow a bird. He stuck a dandy. I am not a turkey hunter. Enjoy watching them strut and hearing them gobble. Always great to be in a deer stand and see and hear them fly up/fly down from a roost. This bird had spurs of 1.25 inches. I have not a clue what that means for a Merriam. He hit it in the heart and it was dead when it hit the dirt. He said it was about a 10 yard shot from his blind. He had a couple of decoys working.
