Monkey off the Back

Posted in the Kill Thread as well.
This deer came from nowhere. Locked up at bout 25yds…… I could see rack behind a tree…. Took 10 minutes looking in my direction to get muzzy on him.
He knew something was up !!!!!!!!!
He was on full blown lock down trying to decide what to do.
I'm looking at his eyeball and partial rack thru scope,….. 5-10 minute standoff…..He finally turns inside out and headed back the way he came .
Following in scope and a couple loud "baaaap"
He slowed enough at a steep quartering away….. boom!
Hit the ground , rolled over and got up dragging the back half body into the holler.
Big blowdown from hurricane stopped him. Saw antlers move for a second or 2…..
Looked thru binoculars and scope for 45 min…. Couldn't ever see anything.
He was done in seconds after shot…… terrible but effective shot. Glad to get him!!!!!!
Was really thinking gonna blank this season.

Between back rib and hip forward into liver and lung.

I thought you might have gotten the femoral artery. I have made (unintentional) shots twice in my hunting career that got that artery. It is a very deadly shot. Both times the bucks dropped straight down in there tracks. No follow up needed.
