moly coated bullets

Moly, or no Moly. I know many of you guys are very knowledgeable on the subject. What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance

pros,,easier and less often cleaning,

cons,if you store it with moly in the bbl it will attract moisture and ruin your bbl.

Most who use a graphite type lube on their bullets typically need it for long strings of fire in a competition mode. This also is usefull in a prarie dog town. You can run many more shots without loosing your accuracy from the buildup of carbon and copper. There are much better choices than moly, as David Tubb has researched and promotes HBN currently. Hexagonal Boron Nitride. I personally find I like it much better than moly, less messy on everthing it touches. Google (Lower Friction) for a source on where to purchase.

If you are running a match grade barrel, I would suggest properly breaking in your barrel before using moly coated bullets. The moly coated bullets will not have the amount of friction needed to break in the barrel, and the accuracy of the barrel will not be as good as it will be if you break it in right. I have a match grade barrel on my AR and it shoots much more accurate and consistent now that the barrel has been broken in than when it was brand new.

All I know is the Hornady V-max moly coated is the best shooting round out of my AR.

This is the first time I shot 300yds with my R-15 using the Moly coated. For me that aint too bad.
