I have a Model 70 in 7mm WSM. It is a very basic model.

It currently has a blind magazine. I was wondering if there is any way to change it to a hinged floor plate or a drop-box style magazine?

If it requires a new stock, all the better, as I would like to upgrade the stock anyway.

Any other recommendations to make the gun better?

Sale it and buy a Remington 700.

Ha! You know, I knew that was coming. I almost ended my post with "Any other recommendations to make the gun better?... except buying a 700 :) "

In all seriousness I really don't want to sell this one. I happen to like it. It was the first gun I ever bought, second gun I ever killed a deer with (first was my grandpas .30-.30). I might like to pass it down to my son some day.

I might buy a 700 at some point but I ain't gonna get rid of this 70 to do it.

Yeah I was just funnin with you. I don't know much about Winny's but would suspect what you want to do would be fairly easy. Just buy the appropriate stock and floorplate. Good luck to ya.

Gotta pay attention to which stock you get for it as well as the new bottom metal. 2 piece or 1 and if factory or after market. The one piece bottom won't fit a factory stock for the 2 piece bottom metal without some inleting. Good Luck an Go For It

I love the control round feed model 70's, but the push feed like you are ok too. You can buy the stock and bottom metal for it.

I don't know a whole lot about guns... so I googled this.
Turns out my gun is "controlled round push feed".

Here is a short article on the model of gun I have...

No need to downgrade by getting a Rem700. :)
You can find stocks on eBay or cdnn to fit your rifle. Bottom metal and magazine are also needed. Most of the time the 1 piece bottom metal is used for the newer stocks. Make sure you know what type you need before buying.
