Mock scrapes

Just found three bottles of mock scrape, the questions is are they still good; they were stored in Rubbermaid container since last season end in garage. They are unopened

I've used a lot of scents over the years and to tell the truth, most of the time I've seen no difference in fresh bought bottles and 10 year old bottles. If you want the best stuff available just unzip and let her fly.

never used mock scrape in the bottle. See it walmart but always worried I would scare more off than attract. does that stuff really work? Question not being smart.

Only time I use mock scrapes is on public land to keep other folks hunting closer to the truck and not going back where I go. Had a buddy of mine hunt one of my mock scrapes for 3 days straight thinking he was on a big one until he finally told me where he was hunting and I had to tell him that was one of my scrapes. Guess that mock scrape did work :D

I wouldnt waste my money on mock scrape stuff. Not that it doesn't work but your own urine will work just as good if not better.

LOL....funny you mention that, a couple years ago I was hunting a really good buck. On our club your suppose to pin in on a map where you are hunting. For safety reasons mainly, but some use it to keep up where others are hunting. I had a fella kept getting closer and closer to the core area where I was hunting this buck. So I made a massive rub line that Stevie Wonder could follow. Well he took the bait and hunted the rub line for a week or so, I finally killed the buck about a week later about a 1/4 mile deeper in.

I kept reading about making mock scrapes peeing in them and so last year I tried it. Made a scrape, added pee, set up a camera and could not believe the pics I was getting. Does and bucks were checking it out on a regular basis. I even got several pics of two small bucks fighting over it. I started refreshing it every time I would use that ladder stand sight and continued to get pics.

Nothing big, smaller basket rack bucks and does but they would work it on top of my freshening it up. I did put it right under a low hanging branch.

I am a believer! Gonna redo it again this year at the same sight.

Yeah, it's almost funny how much trouble most of us went to not to pee anywhere near where we intended to hunt in the past. I've tried making mock scrapes and peeing in them and it does work. I had some bucks going crazy one year with my daily refreshing of the fake scrapes.

I did that once and set a cam over it and on video the videos I got confirmed I will not do that again. The only time I've seen deer go from standing to sprinting that fast was when I'd put an arrow through them

I started out hunting in Ms in 1973. One of the places I hunted was a strip of timber off the edge of a big cutover. There were a few scrapes in there but I wasn't seeing any deer. At that time I always carried a pee bottle. When I climbed down I thought I'd try something different so I pissed in a scrape that was visible from my stand. A couple of days later I was back in there hunting. I watched does and buck after buck hit that scrape as well as a few new ones since I'd been in there last. That was the last time I ever carried a pee bottle and I've been peeing in scrapes every since. It works! Maybe not in every scrape you pee in but enough to make me a believer.

If it's tinks brand, it's a synthetic so it will still be good
