As of late last week, the bachelor group of bucks had still not split up (Giles Co), and no signs of chasing yet.
Is it too late to establish a couple of mock scrapes, with scent? They generally travel a very narrow corridor and I'm looking to pull them off to the sides a little to investigate and/or linger.

I do believe you will get some activity at a mock scrape. Its definitely worth a shot. I still have cameras over 3 mock scrapes but I haven't checked them in nearly 2 weeks.

Some bucks will continue scraping during the course of the rut. Some will return to scraping. Some will be finished. As long as the potential is there for "some" what do you have to lose?

I think the rut is over here in northern middle Tennessee .
I was seeing them running crazy to all most nothing now.
Checked my cams and the doe's are grouping up now all buck pics or at night now.
But that doesn't mean that there is not a few doe's left right now that's
coming in just got to be sitting in the right spot and if your lucky enough to have that one doe come in there will be several bucks with her more than likely.
And you always have hunters on the weekend that will push a few around.

Your peak may be over but you may also have some bucks locked down with does and thus little movement. You're likely to see more rutting action in another 28 days or so.

As of the middle of last week, the mature bucks were still grouped together.
On Sat night, I saw tons of does and yearlings, no signs of chasing.
(This is South Giles.)
