I picked up my savage the other day, knowing full well it was loaded from last season.. and was going to shoot it.. I'm not sure why I didnt but I just didnt.. well a week later I decided to put it in my gunsafe, when I stood it up I noticed dirt dobbers had decided to build a nest in my barrel.. It was a around 3 inches of dirt, mud and beleive it or not.. a solid black wasp with a white stripe around its abodmen.. I'm glad I didnt fire it..

Another reason not to leave your muzzle loader loaded for extended periods of time.

Could have gotten real interesting if you'd dropped the hammer with that in the barrel.
