ML ? Barnes bullets

What do ya'll like the hollow point or poly tipped bullets & what kind of sabots do you shoot with them wanting to switch thks.

I have shot Barnes mz expander 250 hollow point for over 20 years. Never failed me.

My son and I shoot the 195 grain Barnes Expanders out of a 45/70 smokeless conversion with the light blue harvester sabots. They are awesome bullets in my opinion. I retrieved one from a deer last year that I shot in the neck facing me. Needless to say, it was a bang flop. All others shot have either fell or not made it very far even on a couple semi marginal shots.

Picture below is the exit side of a 130lb doe I shot with a 290 grain Barnes Spitfire T-EZ riding in the blue sabots they come with. The Spitfire T-EZ has a flat base. My CVA didn't like the boat tail bullets. I can put 5 of the Spitfire T-EZs in an inch and a half group at 100. I shoot these on top of 120 grains of Blackhorn 209. Believe it or not I didn't catch any lung on this shot, but she still didn't make it more than 40 yards. I tried Hornady, Powerbelt, Federal, and Barnes when I got my new CVA Accura V2 LR. The Barnes were the most accurate and got the best reviews for best blood trails. I would try the flat base and the boat tails and see what your gun likes. I don't think you can can go wrong with any of them.

I wld 2 stay with 250gr bullets just didnt know if harverster crush rib sabots wked better thats what i shoot now with 240gr hord

I shot a doe with a 300g hollow point this year based on a friend's recommendation.

I shot the poly tipped tez with the blue sabots in my CVA wolf. Now that I shoot a smokeless rig, I shoot the expanders with a light blue sabot.

I've been shooting the 300gr Expanders over 100gr of Pyrodex Select since the late 90s and can shoot almost 1 hole at 100yds if I do my part. And the deer usually just drop on the spot.

Swapped over to the blackhorn 209 and 250 TZ combo 2 years ago, best decision ever made. This site was the main source of information. Their are members on here that will help out anyone who will just ask.

I shoot the 185 grain barnes in my 50 caliber cva wolf, amazing results. I shoot the short black harvester sabot. Im goin to switch to the 200 grain probably because the petals are coming off the 185 grain bullet because its shootn to fast, lol

I just started using the 250 hollow points. The sabots that come with them are fine. I have not shot a deer, but shot a coyote and it was a bang flop kill.

Can't go wrong with any Barnes. Just find your load and never look back.

I like the 300gr Barnes Expander seated in an MMP HPH12 sabot out of my Savage.
Several deer, two coyotes, and a black bear have been taken with it, all with devastating results.
