Food Plots Mixing Chufa with other plants?

Any suggestions for mixing chufa with other plants?(i.e clover, wheat,alfalfa, etc)

seems like I have read you need sandy soil for that any truth to it?

I've read that too but I have also read that it grows any where that corn grows. I'm totally new to food plots or any planting for that matter.

Chufa has been one tough crop for me to pull off...it continues to be an ongoing experiment on my place. The very first time I tried it turkeys scratched it all up. Other times have been met with very little success so I continue to try it in different areas/soil types, planting dates, and depths.

As far as mixing it with others I really can't weigh on that...still trying to get it to grow well just by itself. :|

I planted some chufa mixed with another blended product about 3 or 4 weeks. Hopefully I will see some sprouts when I go to the farm this weekend.

Went to the farm this weekend. The chufa is sprouting fine. The other stuff is not.
