I've been researching out of state license fees for a diy hunt and Missouri is at the top of my list. Any suggestions on WMA's would be appreciated. Right now I'm leaning towards bow season.
 
Me and my fiancé are going on our honey moon October 20-25-. Then we are going to try and hunt a few days in Missouri as well. Never hunted there, not sure where we are gunna go yet. But most likely we will end up hunting the Mark Twain National forest.
 
Not sure if much public land exist but I would look into Northern MO.

When I looked at MO I looked at areas that produced the most quality bucks, however quality is subjective, then once I located what I believed to be the best areas that would produce the kind of deer I deemed quality, I began looking at each piece of public land within the area. Then I focused on the pieces with restrictions such as antler restrictions or weapon restrictions, those with both went to the top of spots I would check out, then I got married and my researched ceased lol but one day!
 
I got a lease in SE Missouri for this year, it being only 3.5hrs from my house helped with deciding. Numbers are pretty good in the area I leased, from what I hear the Northern part of the state is still trying to bounce back from the EHD outbreak they had.
