yesterday,,loaded 10 270 WSM with 140 SST and a light load of RL 22,,bore sighted rifle and was just gonna get close so i could do some testing when this weather clears,

first shot was about a foot high and a foot to the right,,moved scope and next shot was about 2 inches high pretty close left right..

third shot didnt do anything,,I recocked and tried it 3 more times and it never fired.

cases were sized and then tumbled before priming with RCBS hand primer,,primers were dropped on tray 100 at a time and NEVER touched by my fingers at any time,,

Rem 9 1/2 that I have had about a year when primers were scarce..I use almost 100% CCI primers

in the last 25 years I have had this happen 3 times,,once with WW Large Rifle that were marked for standard or magnum loads, once with Fed 210 and now once with the rem 9 1/2..

I have only had it happen once, sounds like a bad primer to me. I also use CCI primers only if available.

Had it happen with all the major brands at one time or another very few and far between though.

Uncle had 2 fail to fire recentaly with Rem factory 30/30's and one of his reloads with WLR's.
