MIsfire Confirmed

Well, some will like this I suppose, but I went out yesterday to finally shoot my rifle that I had the misfire with to see what the problem was. I fired 8 rnds consecutively from the same box of Rem CoreLokt 150 gr ammo w/o issue, then, I put the round that hadn't fired in the chamber, and "click". Heavy dent in the primer, but no ignition. So, it wasn't the Mod 710, but that one round was the culprit. Anyway, this is the first issue I've ever had with this ammo in, heck I don't know, 30+ years I suppose. I will, however, call Remington and explain to them the details, and let them know that I followed their advice and tried to fire it again. Who knows, maybe I'll get a coupon for some more ammo.

I don't know about rem. ammo anymore. I had a buddy who had a corlokt misfire and cost him a really nice buck. Also a guy at work had some pistol ammo that had the bullets seated at all different depths.

Misfires happen on occasion with every brand of ammo. Im sure if you ask enough people you can verify a misfire with every brand out there!

A year ago my Rem. M700 30-06 mis-fired a 15 year old Winchester round from a box I had been given. I rotated the bolt to reset the firing pin and tried again - boom. Disasembled the bolt and cleaned/oiled it. Happened again this year. Only have 1 round left from box. If it happens next year with new ammo I can blame the gun but for now I agree with Winchester that it happens occasionally. Each time it happened I was on a deer and didn't want to rack in a new round but the gun made a click loud enough for the deer to hear it.

A friend of mine bought a brand new box of Remington in 35 Rem caliber this summer. It was the worst factory ammo I've ever seen. There were bronze and silver primers and some rounds were heavy recoiling and some were almost squibs. He contacted Remington and they did nothing; not even a kiss my a$$! I have lost so much respect and confidence in Remington.

This box was purchased on 12/18/2012 btw, and cost me a shot on a dandy buck as well. So far, every other round has fired fine from the same box...just that one at issue.

I just had a misfire last week on a hog down in Central Florida. Was using the Remington brand. But got redemption on a nice little 7 pointer. First time I ever had it happen.

I was considering buying some Remington rifle ammo because I was in a pinch. I opened a box to look at them at the store and found a round with the primer seated cross ways. There is no way it would have fired.

I had some misfires with my 30.06 700 several years ago. Turned out to be the gun. Rem fixed it for a small fee. No misfires since, all shooting done with Rem Core-Lokts.
