I took my daughter Miriam this morning to hunt. She had a bad experience with the shotgun so we decided to use a crossbow. She shot it about 10 times on Friday with a perfect bullseye every time. Anyway I brought along the video camera. We had a jake come towards us, but when he saw my gobbler decoy he wouldn't come any closer. He'd just got his butt kicked by two gobblers that chased him towards us. Even another Jake was after him! Poor little dude. 
We had a good time. After she got too cold and bored, I drove her down the road to look for more turkeys. I video taped some more gobblers in another field. That field is loaded, but I don't know who to ask permission to hunt it. I just didn't want her to sour on hunting. I'll take her again once it warms up a bit.
We only heard one gobble the entire morning! At times they responded to our call, but they wouldn't commit.
