Help! I put two minnow traps in a creek that does have minnow's, I put bread in them and caught one minnow and one crawdad. What am I doing wrong? I used the vinyl covered wire traps.

If the hole is a smooth circle ide cut the ring and bend the wires in some making it harder for them to escape or dont leave it out long.

it's all in placement. make sure the holes are facing the current. eddies behind rocks are good as are undercut banks near current. just where a run goes into a deeper hole is good. sometimes the deeper holes are good but i have better results in faster, shallower water.

That's kinda funny, what's the difference in them, I cut the smooth ring out of them, I'm goin to try again next time I fish.

Also when you use bread take a couple of pieces and squeeze them as hard as you can into a hard compact ball of bread it will turn into a dough ball and last 10x as long as just a loose piece of bread.
