Mineral licks

Im running behind this year on freshing up my already in use licks and starting a new one... is it too late in the antler development now for it to help this year?

its late... but better than not putting anything out at all.

We are at peak salt usage for bucks right now. If you hurry, you should be able to get bucks using a new lick.

However, most antler growth is already complete. Although salt access may aid in mineralizing antlers.

deer actually use the mineral sites year round.. you'll get a lot more pics during the lactating fawn/doe time and peak usage during early spring and summer for bucks horn formations.. i have actually been makin my own mineral sites and its saved me a ton of money .. rather than the normal trophy rock, deer cane,etc.. and more usage and more sites for less money.. i like the bang for your buck rather than payin for a name personally.

Salts are an important ingredient in mineralizing (calcifying) antlers. Generally you see the most salt usage by does when they are producing milk and the maximum buck usage when they are mineralizing antlers.

well i re applied the trace minerals to my 3 licks i already had and put out 2 trophy rocks today i put a cam on the rock closet to my bow stand .. ill give it a couple weeks and see what i see.
