Midway has went down hill in the last couple of years IMO. THe last four times I have tried to place an order, they have been out of at least one item. The worst part is they charge shipping on the backordred items as well. I called today to see why they were trying to charge me for two shipping charges. THey said because it doesn't ship together. I asked how that was my fault. After a little studdering from the other end, I let them know that everywhere else that I do business with doesn't charge me shipping twice, and from now on, that is who will be getting my business. I have spent $1500 with them in the last few years but not another dime.

That has been their policy for some time and it makes me think twice about purchasing a backordered item.

On top of that, I noticed Midway has gotten fairly expensive over everyone out there when it comes to reloading components.

To add insult to injury, I got a coupon today to save $20 on any $300 purchase...You've got to be kidding me?! I've spent $3400 with them and won't be spending anymore until prices/shipping come back inline with other online retailers.

Well a happy moment for Midway.

I found a certain rifle I own likes a certain bullet. These went up significantly at Powder Valley and my wholesale source.

The St. Pats Day sale was a great thing for me personally. I got those for under current wholesale and only 10.00 shipping for a 500 count box.

Had good luck with Midway, but the backorder issue would be a problem. I have always order online and check stock before making an order, been lucky so far. I prefer Midsouth, they are a little cheaper, but I have to pay TN tax with Midsouth which just about evens the price.

Yeah, you've got to watch and not order any items that aren't shown in the website as in stock or they'll charge you for separate shipping. I just usually wait until most of the things I want are in stock before placing an order. Once I was ordering a small item and had checked the shipping cost which was only going to be a buck or two. I checked the free catalog icon and even though the catalog was free it charged about five dollars extra for shipping costs for the catalog. I just redid the order without the catalog and said thank, no thanks. IMHO it's a sneaky way to get your catalogs distributed without any mailing costs.

Last week I started to order a powder scale and a couple of other items from Midway - checked the postage/handling and it was almost half-again or double what other companies were charging. I went to Brownell's instead and saved some $$$$.

I haven't had any trouble at all from Midway. One time last year I called the customer service department about an item that wasn't in the box...that item was overnighted! On the checkout page I always get a page that allows me to pick the carrier of shipping by price and speed of delivery. Depending on the urgency/rate I need I get to pick the carrier per my need. I think gas prices have finally spilled over to the general market. I placed a 7lb order with Midway Saturday and chose UPS ground. Shipping was $10.91 and it is 'out for delivery' from the hub today!

I have not found a better source than MidwayUSA. I have a C&R so they give me a dealer price and I just havent found anyone with better pricing.
But I have never placed an order that shows the item would be back ordered, if I did I would expect to pay separate shipping on it.
I like the fact that I have never had to call them. ever. I place my order online, get a confirmation email, get an email with a UPS tracking number when the order ships, and they charge actual shipping instead of inflated shipping prices.

Got to say I really like them and their customer service is second to none. I don't shop anywhere exclusively but they are as close as I come. Backorder shipping and under $25 fee aren't great but I've sent back items months later without the original invoice and never received a hassle.
