Most of my deer sightings have been after 10:00 in the mornings.

Maybe it's because of the frozen ground or possibly the early and late pressure each day...

For whatever reason, I think I will shift my efforts to hunting 8:00 to noon or maybe 9:00 to 2:00.....I am contemplating a sit from 10;00 until dark one day if I can get the right wind all day and tolerable temps....

Oh the choices we make..lol!!!

any similar sightings from others?
 
In all honesty a deer has to be somewhere 24/7,the property you hunt will dictate when to hunt, then hunter pressure starts & they repattern, then the rut starts & there's no telling when you might see 1. Luck plays a part in hunting no matter what other hunters say. I set all day when I can & when I cant I go with what times I have seen deer there, good luck on your choices ,I have been picking mostly bad 1's this year lol
 
the only day I have seen any movement to amount to anything, I saw deer all day from daylight to dark. other than that, what few deer I have seen have been daylight to 8:30am
 
Around here most the deer I've seen have been daylight till about 9:00. After that it gets slow for some reason. Evenings have been slow too.
 
More times than not, I see many more deer after 9:00 anyway. Rarely do I see a single deer EARLY! I rarely see deer LATE either (after 4:00).

I hunt wooded areas that, imo, are more travel areas than feeding areas. Now, deer will stop to browse on a few acorns along their travels, but most deer are going somewhere when they come by me...

Bucks travel these areas looking for lingering does....I assume they come through going to different areas that they think does will be....sometimes a shot is quick and some deer get passed me but if I am diligent, i see most of them and again , most are traveling and not browsing much.

it's not your basic feeding or bedding area. That's why I hunt it because it rarely changes due to the availability of food. Much like roads and intersections we humans travel..imo.
 
I haven't been much for the last week or so, but most of the chasing activity I had been seeing was at about 10 o'clock till noon. I was seeing a little activity at "normal" times.

When I was younger and more energetic I killed several bucks mid-day. Now I just hunt mornings and evenings but knowing as pressure picks up I should be hunting mid day again. Just can't seem to get to it anymore.
