I looked up and found series near the end of the game when Miami could have taken a knee to run out the clock but ran and fumbled. Is that it?

Yes. It made zero sense to run another play. I can't think of a worse coaching decision. It would be like a doctor amputating the wrong limb.

This is the 2nd time Cristobal has lost a game this way.

I like the energy and enthusiasm in Cristobal but when the score is that close you don't try and put points up like that. Maybe if the score was like 27-12 with 45 seconds left and your trying to beat the spread or something you do it.
