My son killed a small doe this morning. 30 yard shot licking the trophy rock. It went straight down, so I got down and drug it to under our stand. I get back up and reload, and tell him he can still shoot a buck. He told me then that he wanted me to shoot one. I said well if a doe comes in, I will shoot it, and if a buck comes in, he can shoot it. He said no, you shoot what ever comes in, cause you hardly get to hunt that you actually get to kill something, cause your always taking me. Well at 9-ish, a spike comes in, and I tell him, there is a buck, get ready, figuring he would change his mind, he said no you kill it. So I kill it at about 60 yards. Funny thing is, it ended up being a deer he nicknamed patches, cause from the trail cam pictures we noticed it had a white spot above it's nose. We always joked he was on the hit list, from the guys saying it on tv. This was his 8th deer, and 2nd with a muzzleloader. He is 10 yrs old and loves it.

Congrats. My dad and I almost doubled this morning, but he missed a doe less than 5 min after I shot my 4 pointer.

That's pretty awesome that your son is developing that kind of attitude at such an early age. Congrats to both of you.

Thanks guys. He truely is a good kid, and learning more everytime we go out. This is our second double. We also doubled his first year hunting, when he was 7 years old. It was also muzzleloader.
