Got my second order of trapping supplies in the other day.
Order included 6 of these traps.

Compared to the Duke's about all I can say is WOW.

I like 'em.
Can't see anything getting out of one of these suckers.

It's a great trap. The only drawback for me is no easy way to set a heavier pan tension. Sometimes, I want to avoid anything other than yotes and bobcats. Otherwise, I really like them.

They are about perfect for yotes. The only thing that needs to be done out of the box, is clip the spring pins if they are 2 coiled.

I have only ever had one dog messed up after a catch. Ironically it was by a grey fox.

How close do you cut them?

Doesn't need to be flush, just how the bolt cutters fit in leaving a nub the chain won't snag on.

Well kinda.
I got the Duke's sent back, waiting on them to call and tell me they got them so I can apply their cost to some more MB550s.

Good deal, them 550s are solid. Bridger #3 are nice too, but require a little tinkering.

I have 4 duke #4, and they are just borderline ok. They are not ready to go out of box. All 4, the dog would not clear the rubber jaw to engage the pan. Had to work on them to get them operational, and they are not my go to traps.

550 2 coil are the least fussy and plenty strong in all aspects. Also have 6 650 that are good, and have 7 bridger #3 that are also good. Won't sell those, but the 550 will be what I order more of in future. Their jaw spread is plenty big, also.

That's the way I read it also but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Maybe scn can verify that for us.
