I know this is a matter of opinion but curious. I can't pull a 60 plus pound bow back anymore due to having disc issues in my neck a few years ago. I guess I can still pull one back but don't want to risk hurting myself again and resulting in potential surgery.

I've hunted some with a crossbow but just not the same as shooting a bow. I've read a lot of good things about the Switchback as one of Mathews better bows. I've been looking off and in for a 50-60 lb pull and found a used one in my draw length. It's got a decent site and drop away rest on it but no arrows or quiver.

It's priced at around $500. That seems steep for a used bow but close to prices I've saw. They don't make many with this lower poundage. Been staring at it for a week and here I am. Lol.

Thoughts?
 
I still have mine. Used it all the way up until a few years ago. But it's still ready to go. Nothing wrong with it and will have it forever. Greatest all around bow there is, IMO. Will go back to it some day. I think that's a fair price.

Another option is getting new limbs for whatever bow you have or find. My dad did this with one of his bows. He could no longer pull it back and ordered lighter limbs. Just another option
 
I have a Halon 7 and a SBXT. I've got new strings ordered for both but wouldn't be suprised if the SBXT becomes my primary bow again due to shoulder issues.

As for the price, that's a little high based on prices I've seen on AT lately. I guess it really depends on the specifics of the rest and sight though.

i had a v3x for one night and took it back. heaviest and harshest drawing bow i ever picked up. good choice to stay with the switchback
 
I've got a Hoyt torrex that I'll sale. It's set at 54 pounds. Had it set up for my wife and she just doesn't like it. Rather shot crossbow. Fully loaded, 6 Easton arrows and hard case. I'll take $400. Im on the west side
 
Have you considered other brands? I have whacked more deer with an old Diamond bow than anything else. They are the "Toyota" to the "Lexus" that is Bowtech if I am not mistaken. I do know they have a ton of models, more importantly they are adjustable for draw length easily and draw weight between 20-70 lbs, without having to change modules or limbs. You can find your comfortable spot, wherever that is...
 
I would like to a new bow but it's hard to change when my old Darton bow still smokes them. It's #70 pull is a lot on cold mornings, but I can fall back to my lighter Browning bow or my crossbow if need be. It's hard to spend the type of money that these new bows cost when your olde but a goodie is still getting the job done.

That is interesting. I've never felt that way with mine. I'll probably shoot it forever with 75 pound mods.
