Went out this afternoon to check on one of my squirrel hunting spots in Giles County. Hickory, oak and walnut mast is good. Trees are loaded. I hung around for a while to see if I saw any squirrels, but not much action. It was middle afternoon and hot. I've heard about a good mast crop from others lately also. Another favorite spot of mine is Laurel Hill Wildlife Management Area in Western Lawrence County. I should probably take a ride out that way soon. I'm sure it's the same. Never came home with an empty bag from Laurel Hill. It's a good place and lots of room.

I am bushhogging on of my favorite squirrel spots this week. Open woodlot with mature hickories and ancient oaks. Bushhogging the grass sure makes recovery easier
