Our featured speaker will be Bryan Kinkel, a certified wildlife biologist and owner of BSK consulting. Bryan is one of the most knowledgeable deer experts in the country. He has authored many scholarly and popular articles and several books including Deer Management 101. He has educated thousands of Tennessee deer hunters through his informative posts on TnDeer.com.
Bryan is one of the foremost authorities on the use of trail cameras as a data collection tool for wildlife managers. In fact, he literally wrote the book on trail cameras (Deer Cameras: The Science of Scouting). The title of Bryan�s presentation is Trail Cameras as Deer Management Tools.
In his presentation, Bryan will cover:
� Trail camera types
� Trail camera data versus other data types
� What data to collect
� Where to collect data
� What the data tells us
� The impact of camera placement on the data that is collected
� Baited sites versus unbaited sites
� Interpretation of data collected at various times of year

We will also hear from Mike Butler, CEO of the Tennessee Wildlife Federation who will give us an update on the proposed deer farming bill and several other key pieces of legislation that affect our interests as sportsmen and conservationists. Mike does a terrific job of looking out for our interests in the state legislature and can discuss the merits and risks of every piece of legislation that deals with wildlife.
