The Navionics Platinum is very popular BUT I can certainly testify that a lot of the stuff it has on the maps...ain't actually there. It will show a lot of bridges, road beds, etc...but most of it is not there. I think it's all there for eye candy. You can go to the Navionics website and view what their maps look like for the lakes. It's neat to look at...but I have pre-flood TVA maps that show road beds, bridges, etc...and the ones that Navionics shows, ain't even on the pre flood maps.
The LakeMaster is pretty good IF you have a lake that is in the HD directory for it. Example...in my area, Chickamauga Lake is an HD lake and the detail on it is incredible. Watts Bar Lake is not an HD...and it's OK. It's a step up above the internal map anyway.
Those are the only two I am familiar with. The Lowrance units have a couple extra you could choose from that I'm not sure we can run on the Bird...but out of those two, I would go with the LakeMaster if it will run on your unit.
