Just 2 of us and we managed to get a limit of mallards 2 days around Christmas. I haven't seen near the gadwalls I use to see.

From what I can tell at our spot, all duck numbers are way down on Ky Lake since the grass disappeared.

Point of clarification: do you mean when the grass dies seasonally or was there an intentional application of aquatic herbicide that wiped the grass out?

It's been gone for a while. TVA and TWRA swear they haven't sprayed it, but it has almost completely disappeared from the lake. Duck hunting and most fishing has suffered greatly in its absence. They lay the blame on the Asian carp, and I suspect that fluctuating water levels hasn't helped it any either. But I suspect at least some of it was deliberately killed off, even though there is nothing I can prove one way or another.
